Chapter Summaries

Chapter One "Seijinshiki"

Habibi (p3rky_grrl) runs a webcam from her bedroom and makes a modest income teasing thousands of fanboys who clamor for "nood pix". Uncomfortable with the two way exploitation of the webcam world, she announces that she is shutting her website (p3rky_grrl.com) down before she heads out to college. Jun (perkyfan), a long time fan of Habibi's site, offers to take her to Hawaii as a going away present. However, they seem to have unwittingly picked up an eavesdropper on the conversation....

Chapter Two "Return Policies"

Habibi arrives at the airport and is picked up by Clem, who is a "friend of Jun". They go get a bite to eat, and Clem slips a date rape drug into her drink. Things go downhill from there before Raj unexpectedly shows up to take matters in hand.

Chapter Three "Sudden Respite"

Raj takes Habibi to his home, a halfway house for homeless youth run by a mysterious figure called The Dean. The Dean asks deCess to stay with Habibi and comfort her after her horrible experience with Clem. As they sleep, Habibi and deCess share a strange, dreamlike interlude. This creates a intense, intimate and uncomfortable bond between the two. They are trying to figure out what happened to them when Habibi is summoned by the Dean.

Chapter Four "Acculturation"

Habibi is taken before the Dean, who explains that Habibi possesses a mysterious power that the Dean can help her understand. Showing his own power, the Dean takes Habibi to the same dream space that Habibi and deCess shared earlier. Upset at her lack of control over events, Habibi somehow taps her latent power with her anger. This intrigues the Dean, and he endeavors to convince Habibi to stay at the Halfway house. Afterward, Habibi and deCess come to an understanding of sorts, only to be interrupted.

Chapter Five "Intervention"

Mihail, a local fan of perky_grrl, tries to convince Habibi to leave the halfway house but fails. Suspecting Habibi has fallen into the clutches of a cult, he plots Habibi's rescue. The Dean, sensing the intrusion, orders Raj to kill Mihail. Raj is conflicted, but seems to be on the verge of carrying out those orders when Gri appears. Meanwhile, Habibi and deCess again try to make some wet and sloppy sense of their relationship. They are stopped by the Dean who introduces Habibi to her place in the food chain....

Chapter Six "Price of Passage"

Habibi awakes to find herself in Jun's house, after she has been rescued by Gri. When Habibi is told that deCess was left behind, she realizes that deCess is next in line for the "special program" and is in danger. Habibi negotiates deCess's rescue with Gri, who agrees to do it for a price. Habibi finally meets Jun in person, and is shocked to find out that Jun is really a girl. Very upset, Habibi blames Jun for her rape, which causes Jun to run out of the house crying. Gri leaves to get some assistance in the form of Seizan, and they prepare their rescue attempt. In the meantime, Jun, who has drowned her sorrows in a bottle, has fallen into the hands of a mysterious woman named Rún.
